The Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) will host the Leading Change Symposium at the Australian Technology Park in Sydney on 27 and 28 November 2008.

The Leading Change Symposium will bring together discipline-based teaching and learning leaders to identify common priorities to be considered by the ALTC in 2009-2011. At this event, the ALTC will also launch its strategy for supporting the disciplines – the Learning Networks. Learning Networks is a newly formalised focus of activity that arises out of earlier initiatives – the Discipline-Based Initiatives Scheme and the Resource Identification Network.

At the Symposium delegates will share their perspectives on priorities for the disciplines. A key outcome of the Symposium will be the identification of common cross-disciplinary priorities that could be addressed through the ALTC’s Learning Networks over the next 2 to 3 years.

The Symposium delegates have been nominated by members of councils of deans or invited to participate because of their work as ALTC Fellows or project participants. Many are Associate Deans (Teaching and Learning) or those acting in an equivalent leadership role within their discipline.

Information for delegates

There is no registration fee to attend the Symposium and the ALTC will cover the cost of each delegate’s travel, accommodation and meals as specified in the Symposium expense inclusions.
